We are offering free transportation on the Maglev from your Shanghai hotel to the Pudong airport. The Maglev is the world's fastest magnetic levitation train. Traveling at the speed of 287mph, with a distance of 20 miles, the Maglev will only take 8 minutes to get to the airport! Please be aware there are two different airports in Shanghai, Pudong and Hongqiao, but the Maglev only goes to Pudong.

Therefore, unfortunately, for those who join our Historic China, Splendid China and all direct JFK airport departures, you will not have the opportunity to ride the Maglev. For our HC and SC tours, the reason is because the tour itinerary is in reverse order than all other tours. With Shanghai being the arrival city, the Maglev does not operate during that time of day. As for direct JFK departures, the flight only departs out of Hongqiao airport. So HC, SC and direct JFK passengers will travel by motor coach to the airport.

For those who join the land only portion of our tours, we offer free transfer services to escort you from Beijing airport to the group hotel and also from the group hotel to the Shanghai airport. These services will only be provided to/from the hotels listed on the itinerary of the tour you join through our company.
