Deposit
A reservation form (on-line or paper) and total deposit ($300 deposit and travel insurance) per person is required to confirm your reservation on any given tour.
Due to limited airspace, confirmation for your reservation is given in the order deposits are received by our office. Therefore, it's best to reserve online with a credit card or book in person if you are in the Bay Area. Please call our office to set up an appointment.
Once your reservation has been processed, any changes pertaining to your tour must be submitted in writing to our office and subject to a penalty if applicable.
Your confirmation on any tour is NOT valid unless a reservation and total deposit is received in our office.
Custom tours or tours with any deviations may be subject to different total deposit requirements.
Confirmation - Minimum Requirements For Departure Are As Follows:
Signature Tours - Guaranteed departures require a minimum of ten (10) passengers, but at least six (6) out of the 10 passengers must have the full package tour out of SFO airport. On a case by case basis, we may confirm certain tours with less than ten (10) passengers.
Select Tours - Guaranteed departures require a minimum of six (6) passengers with full package tour out of SFO, LAX or JFK airport based on airline availability. On a case by case basis, we may confirm certain tours with less than six (6) passengers.
Custome Tours - Please check with your tour leader for minimum requirements.
Confirmation of your tour will be sent via email as soon as the minimum requirement is met. If you prefer a written confirmation, please allow up to ten (10) business days to receive a written confirmation by postal mail.
For passengers who are making their own arrangements to meet with the international flight provided by China Focus or "Land Only" passengers, do not make arrangements or purchase air flights until the tour is confirmed. China Focus will not be held responsible if you purchased air flights and/or hotels prior to confirmation of the tour. Any cancellation fees or change fees for those personal arrangements will be paid for by the passenger.
All tour groups will have local tour guides at each city visited. On a case by case basis, we may combine your group with another China Focus group (in certain cities). Your tour guides will change from city to city.
If your tour is cancelled because the minimum requirement is not met, you will have the option to either transfer to a guaranteed departure or receive a refund of the $300 per person deposit paid to us.
Custom tours may be subject to a different requirement depending on the agreement with the tour organizer. Check with your custom tour organizer for details.
Final Payment
The balance of tour payment is due fifty (50) days prior to departure. Final payments not received by the due date are subject to cancellation and your deposit will be forfeited. In the event that a reservation is made less than fifty (50) days before the trip, full payment must be made immediately.
Payments received one to ten (1-10) days overdue will assess a $50 late fee per invoice, not per person.
Bounced checks will assess a $20 fee per check.
Canadian checks (personal/bank drafts) will incur a $10 fee per check. This fee is charged by our bank, not us.
If your final payment has already been charged to your credit card, the transaction cannot be reversed. Therefore, switching payment types is not allowed at that time.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect your travel investment against unexpected circumstances and cancellations. China Focus offers Custom Travel Secure Insurance that will insure all your travel needs. The price of insurance will be dependent on the total price of the tour (per person). You may purchase travel insurance at any time prior to fifty (50) days from the date of departure. If you are signing up for a tour within 50 days of the departure, protection can be purchased on a case by case basis. The Pre-Existing Medical Condition Exclusion waiver is only available if the protection plan is purchased within 21 days of the initial covered trip deposit and you are medically fit to travel at the time of purchase. Once protection is purchased, you have a free 10 day “free look” period before it is non-refundable. All claims or cancellations must be submitted to Travelex directly.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing by email, or postal mail.
Include name(s), tour departure date, and a brief explanation for canceling.
If your cancellation affects the price of your roommate, such as forcing them to pay a single supplement, we will deduct this amount from your refund on top of your own cancellation penalty. If you have not paid in full, you are responsible to send in the difference to cover your roommate's single supplement. Also, if your visa to China has already been processed, the visa processing fee is 100% non-refundable. If our Custom Travel Secure Insurance was purchased, you may call Travelex to submit for cancellation to recoup any penalties applied.
The same cancellation penalty applies once your deposite has been processed if you decide to change from full tour package to the land only package, or to change to a different tour, or a different departure date of the same tour.
Substitutions are NOT allowed. If someone in your party cancels, a new traveler cannot simply take his/her place without incurring the cancellation penalty.
Upon receipt of your written notice, a penalty will be applied based on cancellation penalty table below.

Travel Documents
All passengers must have a passport that is valid for at least six (6) months after your date of departure from the U.S. All passports must also have two (2) unused visa pages available. Amendment/Endorsement pages do not count as unused pages.
Resident Aliens need both a passport plus a Resident Alien (Green) Card to re-enter the U.S.
All non-Chinese passport holders are required to have a valid Chinese Visa.
Approval of a Chinese visa is at the discretion of the Chinese consulate. If you choose China Focus to process your visa, on rare cases, the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco may deny a Chinese visa if the passenger is out of their jurisdiction. In these cases, you may process your visa at the correct Chinese district consulate on your own or have China Focus help process the visa at the correct China district consulate. If you have China Focus assist you in the processing, you will be responsible for any additional charges that may be incurred.
Tour Itinerary
China Focus, Inc. endeavors to follow the itinerary precisely, however, if it becomes necessary for the means of transportation or any other services to be changed, or for the tour to be prolonged through circumstances beyond the control of the Chinese handling travel agencies, the passenger is held responsible for all additional tour costs, which must be paid immediately.
Shopping Stops
To ensure that we offer the highest value tours to our travelers. We agree to our China tour service providers to arrange shopping stops to obtain a considerable discount to our travelers. We strongly believe in an open and honest business practice so we inform you upfront about shopping stops and we try to keep them to a minimum. We make sure each stop is limited to approximately 1 hour (except at the silk factory where we allow 1 hour 30 minutes). If you experience any other unauthorized shopping stops, you have the right to refuse entering the store. Please report unofficial stops and/or stops that are more than 1 hour to us immediately either by email or phone. We really appreciate your cooperation. Responsibility & Liability
China Focus, Inc. (CFI) acts only as a tour operator and an agent of China tour companies as well as other suppliers. The suppliers providing transportation, conveyance or accommodations are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of CFI. All tickets, coupons and receipts issued by CFI and all arrangement for transportation, conveyance or for hotel accommodations are made by CFI as agent of the suppliers. By utilizing the service of the suppliers, you agree that neither CFI nor any subsidiary or affiliate of CFI shall be liable of any injury, damage, loss, accidental delay incurred by you or those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other services resulting directly or indirectly from any acts or defaults of the suppliers or from any occurrence or condition beyond the control of CFI including defects in vehicles or breakdown in equipment. Nor shall CFI be liable for any injury, damage, accident, delays or changes in flights, itineraries, schedules, steamers or other services, strikes, weather, quarantine, theft, sickness or other causes. All tour itineraries and fares may be affected by alterations or delays in air or surface transportation services of various countries. CFI reserves the right to cancel the tour prior to departure for any reason. In such cases, full or equitable amount will be refunded, but not to exceed the amount paid by passengers. CFI reserves the right to decline to accept, to retain or to remove any tour participant, should such person's health (mental/physical) condition or general deportment impedes the operation of the tour or the rights, welfare or enjoyment of other tour participants.
