As I mentioned several times throughout this survey, the price I paid was unbelievable. I would certainly recommend the Historic China to anyone interested in touring China. The national guide, Ford Bi certainly made mad the tour enjoyable with his wit and intelligence. Could nt ask for a better guide.
Recommendations:
- Instead of providing all meals, perhaps offer just breakfast and either lunch or dinner. One meal per day should be decided by customer.

Traveling is one of our passions. Paul and I have traveled to 80+ countries to date. This trip was definitely in the top 10.Our national guide , Han, was in the top 5 (of all guides ). He was knowledgeable, accommodating, humble and gentle. He is a valuable asset to China Focus. In the rush to get from place to place-he was the "calm" in the center of the storm! I never heard one negative word about him from anyone.
As for China Focus tours- your are one awesome group. You "deliver' above and beyond what you stat on your website. Since coming home at least 10 couples have said-" we want to sign up for a tour with teh"!!

Simply a terrific trip! Great value!! Shows, sites & info was wonderful. Our national guide Mark was simply wonderful! Kind, caring, warn, friendly, helpful, patient, funny...... Can't find my evaluation form for our Historic China trip, so I will have to give feedback here. I can only echo the testimonials of the many travellers who have praised the quality and value of China Focus trips. From being greeted at SFO to seeing us off in Beijing, we felt "taken care" of the entire journey. For first time visitors to this part of China, it is a reassuring feeling. It gives us the confidence to be more adventuresome the next time. I give top marks to national guide Ford and local tour guides Chris and Allie, all of whom made sure our needs were met and shared much of themselves with us. First of all I wish to say how thoroughly enjoyable was my "Journey of a Lifetime" trip from Sept.27th to Oct.27th. I cannot say enough positive words about you and your company, starting from the beginning when first deciding and planning to go up until the minute we left SF airport. Your staff in the SF office was so kind and willing to answer many questions during the months before the trip.
Once we arrived in China and during the whole time there, we were so well taken care of due to China Focus Travel and Anthony Yan's attention to detail in every aspect. Our national guide, Anthony, made it exceptionally wonderful due to his ability to relate Chinese history and present day realities there as well as being extremely helpful to each individual in our group of 14. I, personally, had two issues to solve, and Anthony went "out of his way" to help me. His ability to educate us, display a wonderful warm sense of humor, and keep us on schedule for 31 day is certainly to be commended.
My memories of this awesome trip will be treasured for many years. China Focus Travel, Anthony Yan, local guides, and your ability to offer such an incredible view of China will certainly be shared with my family and friends. My goal is to encourage them to take one of your tours, and hopefully have Anthony as their guide!

This tour was way beyond my expectations. George, our national guide, was a gem. He took care of any and all problems, and was so cheerful and pleasant all the time. We were very impressed, also, with the local city guides, especially Richard who knew so much about the history of the dynasties, and Veronica in Beijing. Such intelligent, patient people, answering all of our sometimes silly questions. I would recommend (and have already) this tour group to anyone who is interested in a comprehensive, well-managed tour. We had a great time on this trip. My wife had never been to China and my mother- and father-in-law hadn't been back since the Communists took over. This was a great way to see a lot of historical sites in a short amount of time. I wish we could have taken a longer tour.
Highlights included the climb up the Great Wall (strenuous!) and of course the Terracotta Warriors.
There was a lot of day-to-day travel on this trip, so study the itinerary carefully before you book. You'll be spending a good chunk of each day on either a bus or airplane.
Food was highly variable in quality. My wife's family are Han Chinese so we all eat a lot of Chinese food. Many of the restaurants obviously catered mostly to tourists, though this is understandable given the size of many groups. That said the Peking Duck we had was the best I've ever tasted, and I really liked the hotel breakfast buffets.
